Heritage Park's mission is to educate the community about the history of our region. We work hard to make that a possibility by offering many different programs including social studies specific school programs, a variety of other school groups and organizations as well as our summer camp programs.
Since 2004 we have re-created all our school programs to be in compliance with the Alberta Social Studies Curriculum guidelines.
Chevron Open Minds Heritage Park Museum School
Heritage Park is pleased to offer the Chevron Open Minds Museum Schools. This innovative program gives the teachers the opportunity to move their classroom to the rich environment of Heritage Park for an entire week.
Spring School Programs
Although the grade 1 & 2 programs are similar in their format, each grade has distinct differences. Both grades will experience the old fashioned school with “Mrs. McTavish”, old fashioned games and craft time, as well as visits to various building throughout the park. Both programs are approx. 90 minutes and are offered in both the morning and the afternoon.
Please note: Unfortunately due to the flood rebuild, this year we are not able to offer the Spring School Program at Heritage Park
HOWEVER we are running a pilot program for grade 1 and 2 at our
Marine Park Museum.
